Chiltern TRs

Kop Hill Climb, Princes Risborough, 21st - 22nd September 2013

Back in the old days !
The first speed event up this fairly straight, loose macadam 1 in 5 gradient, was held in 1910. The last event in this early period was on 28th March 1925 and when, as a result of a mild accident to a spectator, the RAC decided to ban all motor sport on public roads. The event was revived in 2009 in aid of local charities. The good weather this year meant that attendance was a significant increase over the 14,000 people at last year's event
A team effort to erect the gazebo Saturday was overcast with light drizzle
A good turnout of TRs ...... just a shame the sun didn't come out
Eating and drinking tea, as usual Ian Smith's lovely, newly restored 1954 TR2 long door
Dick Skipworth's Ecurie Ecosse collection out for the last time before the impending auction at Bonham's in December The very handsome Triumph 2000 Italia owned by Ian Tomlinson of Kendal
The unique 1933 24 litre 12 cylinder Napier-Railton from the Brooklands Museum in which John Cobb held the outright lap record of just over 143 mph. Really brave or completely crazy ?? A very nice display of TRs ready for the punters
Very busy all weekend ........ ........ and the car parks were full
Dave, one of the many volunteers, likes dressing up ! Something for everyone
The Sunday line up Ian Cornish, the proud custodian of 4 VC, has owned the car since 1969
Unfortunately Peter and Lucy's TR3A suffered mysterious electrical problems and needed assistance from recovery truck Geoff's TR2 was put to good use when returning all the equipment to Didcot

Thanks to Geoff, Bob, Bill and Peter for the pictures
